AISH was founded on the belief that healing happens through connection — to self, to others, and to the greater consciousness that unites us all. Becoming a member of AISH helps deepen that connection in both your personal and professional journey.

AISH offers 5 membership levels with corresponding value and support. Please select the level that fits you best. If you have any questions, please reach out to one of our Member Coordinators here.

Application Steps for AISH Membership

AISH recognizes the value of rigorous training, professional integrity, and ongoing development in both traditional and integrative hypnotherapy approaches. Certification levels are based on hours of instruction, demonstration of skills, and alignment with AISH’s Code of Ethics and mission: Integrating the Mind, Honoring the Body, Awakening the Spirit.

1. Select the correct level below and complete the Application for Certification form.

2. Read, sign, and submit the AISH Code of Ethics, which can be found here.

3. Upload all supporting documents in application, process payment and submit the application.

4. Membership coordinator will contact you to verify all info and initiate certificate mailing.

Eligibility:

Open to students in good standing with an AISH-approved school.

Benefits:

Access to AISH resources, study groups, networking opportunities, and reduced fees for workshops and conferences.

Purpose:

To encourage professional development and provide mentorship as associates transition into professional practice.

Additional Provisions

Examination Waiver: The skills assessment may be waived for applicants who provide evidence of three (3) consecutive years of full-time professional practice in hypnotherapy or integrative hypnotic coaching. Only the AISH Certification Board may grant this waiver.

Graduates of non-AISH programs: If you have completed a 220-hour program not yet recognized by AISH, you may be eligible to apply for certification by submitting your training records and scheduling the AISH exam.

Key Notes for All Associate Members

Associate Members are not certified by AISH and may not present themselves as “AISH Certified.”

All members must sign and adhere to the AISH Code of Ethics.

Associate Membership reflects community affiliation and support, not professional certification status.

Seeker Level

Associate** – 150 hours hypnotherapy training – $135

“Awakening the Path”

The Seeker tier honors those beginning their journey — students and/or newly certified hypnotherapists. It offers access to foundational resources, educational programs, and a supportive community where members can grow with confidence.

**Associate Member: Acceptance based upon a 1-year grace period to get to 220 hrs. of training to qualify for certification. (3-month extension possible)

Seeker Level – Associate** – New Spiritualists & 150 hours hypnotherapy training

Awakening the Path

The Seeker tier honors new spiritualist & hypnotherapists beginning their journey including laypeople, students, newly certified hypnotherapists, and explorers. It offers access to foundational resources, educational programs, and a supportive community where members can grow with confidence.

As an Associate Member, you’ll connect with a supportive community of like-minded learners, explore introductory trainings and spiritual resources,
receive guidance from experienced mentors, and discover pathways for both personal growth and future professional study.
**Associate Member: Acceptance based upon a 1-year grace period to get to 220 hrs. of training to qualify for hypnotherapy certification. (3-month extension possible). No training requirement for the incoming spiritualist.

The Practitioner tier reflects active engagement with clients and professional development. Members at this level receive tools, training, and networking to support their ongoing practice, skill-building, and contribution to holistic well-being.

Practitioner Level – Certified Hypnotherapist – 220 Hours Training

Grounded in Service

Completion of at least 220 hours of instruction in hypnotherapy from an AISH-approved training program or a school licensed/recognized by the appropriate State or National authority.

Successful demonstration of competence through an AISH written and practical skills assessment (or equivalent exam approved by the Certification Board).

Exceptions may be considered by the AISH Certification Board on a non-discriminatory basis, with documentation of equivalent training or experience.

The Guide tier recognizes experienced hypnotherapists who embody the principles of integrative and spiritual practice. They may support newer members, offer mentorship, and contribute to the field through teaching, writing, or leadership. This tier acknowledges both mastery and service.

Student Member Benefits
As a Student Member of AISH, you will receive:

Connection with a community of holistic and spiritually focused hypnotherapists
Eligibility to upgrade to certified membership upon graduation and completion of certification requirements

Eligibility and Duration:
Student Membership is open to individuals actively enrolled in an AISH-approved school or training program.

Each Student Member must have a sponsoring school listed on their application.

Membership is valid for up to two years, or until certification is completed, whichever comes first.

Certification Note – To transition from Student Member to Certified Member, you must:

Successfully complete at least 220 hours of training from an AISH-approved school

Meet all certification requirements and apply through the AISH Certification Application

Important:
Until certified, Student Members may not represent themselves as certified practitioners. If referencing AISH affiliation in marketing materials or public listings, the term “Student Member AISH” must be used clearly and without suggestion of certification status.
